This is the only grocery store in town so there's not really competition! In saying that they do a great job having good sales and a good selection there is several things we use to buy when we lived in the city that you won't get there but it's isn't detour in us away from the great items they do offer and the sales they run weekly. The meat is usually good priced and taste fresh and good!
Best place to grocery shop and best prices around. One of the main reasons I love it is they still have a real butcher in their meat department. Meat is always fresh, they will cut any meat for you and do it right then while you wait amd also you can pre order special orders. I will always be one of those people who likes things the way they use to be and having a butcher where I shop for my meat is one of those things. Nothing like good service, good prices and freah meat and veggies!!!!
The thing I love about Hays Grocery is that they still carry your groceries out. It is the only place in town to shop so the prices aren't competitive with, say Aldi's or Walmart however the convenience of not having to drive 25 minutes makes it worth it for supplemental shopping. The meat dept will also slice fresh steaks, pork chops, etc. Bakery is great.

Although some of their products(like produce) are a bit pricey compared to Walmart, the convenience of the store makes up for it. Their staff is great and they carry your groceries out to the car for you.
